The work of missions has been an integral part and cornerstone of ESP’s foundation since our inception. As commanded through the Great commission, the work of missions is a fundamental principal of the Kingdom lifestyle. To separate ourselves from missions is to leave ourselves incomplete and ignorant to what the Gospel calls and commands. The work of the church and the work of missions are inseparable.
Locally, our missions department witnesses to people in hospitals, nursing homes, and other areas of the community. Globally, through strategic partnerships ESP’s missions work currently serve ministries in Russia, India, Sri Lanka, various nations in Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean. These ministries include churches, evangelism, church building programs, feeding the hungry, bible printing, providing school supplies, supporting orphanages, supporting single mothers, and providing modes of transportation for many evangelists to spread the word. Also, ESP has been an actively supporting the Caribbean School of Theology which provides post-secondary theological education to aspiring kingdom workers in the Caribbean. ESP’s missions department endeavor to make Psalms 96:3 a reality; “Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples.”
ESP’s Care & Share Ministry was birthed out of the biblical principal of servant leadership, and providing assistance to those in need. Members of ESP are given the opportunity and encouraged to show their love and support to their brothers and sisters both locally and globally. Partnered with Food Basic and other like minded organizations, this ministry’s focus is to let the love of Christ shine through its humanitarian contributions.
In any given situation; be it unemployment, ill health, newcomers to Canada, or be it natural disasters, or general need for food and clothing, our Care & Share Ministry is equipped and ready to respond. Among other things, the ministry provides food supplies, clothing and other assistance.
With a strong focus on community, at ESP we seek to make a difference in the young and old alike. In fact, we bridge the generational gap by providing opportunities for our kids and youth to host programs at local nursing homes. The seniors enjoy being entertained by their singing, dancing and other special items. These programs are usually capped off by a special word of encouragement for the seniors and time to interact with the students.
